I wash with soap at least four or five times a day: once before I have coffee, once in the shower, once usually in the late afternoon when the grime of the day has caught up with me, and once at bedtime. My face is pretty much as oily as it's always been and I'm almost 60. If I don't wash it, it's too disgusting to live with. I used Basis or a clear glycerine soap, depending on what I have on hand or which sink I find myself at. I use a light powder as my only makeup.
Your skin is over-producing oil because it has become used to being stripped multiple times a day. Not sure what the solution is, but maybe cut down slowly.
You probably look young!
I do, tbh, compared to a lot of people my age I know. Of course, extra fat also helps.
Having oily skin as a teenager/YA is hell because your face always looks greasy + dirty. Kind of like a face full of sweat all the time. However in middle-age and beyond it is the biggest blessing ever. I am in my mid-50’s and my skin is moist and unlined. I love not having to deal w/wrinkles and after a little bit of foundation, my skin actually looks glowy.
