The only time I’ve seen a service member punished for an affair under UCMJ was if the affair partner was another service member’s spouse (makes for some hard feelings at work!) or if the affair partner was also a service member and it was fraternization, or if the affair comprised their duty/mission/security.

They don’t necessarily get punished under UCMJ, but they do get sidelined.  And the stigma that comes with making bad decisions follows them professionally.  It’s going to require some serious acting skills for the JCS to pretend to respect this guy. [/quote]

That WAS a scandal. And it shouldn’t shock you that  people at that level get away with more than a Major or Lt Col.  It’s not right, but it true. Flynn was a traitor and shouldn’t have his rank or retirement either.  He should be in Leavenworth. [/quote]
