I had a hs friend (we were NOT from VA) who went there and I never got the appeal, honestly. I just didn't find it attractive at all - yes, I visited her a few times (my school was about 2 hours south)

Fairly certain the PP is a troll who can't stand it when people show love for Virginia schools.  VT alumni are extremely loyal and I've never met a VT student who didn't love the school.  Again, there's a lot more to it than just STEM.[/quote]

Oh, I know. It is definitely a different strokes kind of thing. I personally didn't like it, but I know that is just my opinion.

FWIW, my own child might wind up at another school in that area of VA. I actually thought that campus was pretty cute, but the surrounding area is dull. They do play up the natural beauty of the river and mountains. Not really my thing, but the program she is interested in is quite good there and it would be a good fit for her.[/quote]
