Khahmeini may be seriously injured: “However, the 56-year-old may be in a coma, having lost at least one leg and is suffering serious injuries to his stomach and liver, British newspaper The Sun reports. It is unknown whether he was injured in the attack that killed his father, Ali Khamenei, or in a separate strike. A source close to the team treating Mojtaba told The Sun he was being treated at the Sina University Hospital in Tehran and was under heavy security. “One or two of his legs have been cut off. His liver or stomach has also ruptured. He is apparently in a coma as well,” he said in a message smuggled to a London dissident and passed to The Sun.” Excerpt From “Mojtaba Khamenei ‘in intensive care, seriously injured’” The Australian https://apple.news/ACKkTc_iLTPaiH1EkmQ8ygQ This material may be protected by copyright.
Of course that dork is probably almost dead or seriously injured. Meanwhile, the best response the Iranian propaganda repeaters can come up with is a conspiracy theory about Bibi and unfounded accusations that the Israeli government is somehow censoring their population and Tel Aviv has actually been leveled by a bunch of drones.
It's likely Khamenei is severly injured. The attack killed his father, his mother, his wife, his son, and his infant niece. It'd be unusual if he emerged unscathed. But his election as Supreme Leader is symbolic. It was a way for Iran's surviving leadership to express defiance against the US and Israel. And it allowed the IRGC to consolidate power while the US and Israel hunted for an imaginary leader who is incapacitated somewhere. The Iranian regime that exists today is far more hardline and militant than the regime that existed a month ago. In retrospect, the US should have allowed the former 86 year old Supreme Leader to die a natural death. He likely would have been replaced by a much more moderate and reformist figure eager to get sanctions lifted in the wake of domestic uprisings. But here we are.
