When you are overtly advocating for violent terrorism, this is a risk. He was espousing terroristic activity. It’s literally a law.
What does “espousing terroristic activity” mean? What law? Stop making stuff up. Last time I checked, the First Amendment was actually the law. I’m Jewish and don’t agree with what this person said or did, but I am appalled by this arrest and the notion that lawful residents are being deported for exercising free speech.
Facts matter so here is the truth: Mahmoud IS a peaceful 1st user of the 1st Amendment AND a VERY effective advocate for justice in Palestine/Israel and THAT is why he is a being targeted by what we should all denounce if we have any respect for OUR country's hard won 1st and 4th Amendment. To review: — President Donald Trump has likened Mahmoud Khalil to a terrorist sympathizer. Others portray him as a Palestinian activist, singled out for his outspoken support for his own people. But long before he was arrested by federal agents Saturday night, Khalil told CNN he felt called to advocate for the liberation of both the Palestinian and Jewish people as a refugee. “As a Palestinian student, I believe that the liberation of the Palestinian people and the Jewish people are intertwined and go hand-by-hand and you cannot achieve one without the other,” he told CNN last spring when he was one of the negotiators representing student demonstrators during talks with Columbia University’s administration. “Our movement is a movement for social justice and freedom and equality for everyone,” he said. Re-Read those words . That is not a terrorist supporter. Most of all this man was arrested WITHOUT a warrant and taken in a " forced disappearance" to obstruct his lawyer from being able to provide him due process . THAT should chill every American and anyone who does not demand his immediate release should just turn in their citizenship now... don't you dare hang a flag on your porch on Memorial Day or 4th of July because you are cowards who didn't protect your country from this slide into Fascism. BTW, just so everyone knows, Betar, the group that is responsible for sending Trump and ICE lists of 1st Amendment participant demonstrators, is designated by theAnti- Defamation League as a HATE group... so those of you applauding compiling list of American college kids who support the ICJ and UN Resolutions to prevent the Genocide of the Palestinian people, you are officially aligning yourselves with a designated hate group.
