In the "cool" crowd, there's often a hierarchy/different groups. The actual "cool" people- who are often hip or interesting or bring something to the table, hence being invited to events for free or for entertainment/hip points.  The medium level- i.e. somewhat cool and well liked, but also capable of purchasing their own dinner/ticket to the event (most people probably fall here). And then the final group which is dorky rich people who are willing to splash out any amount of cash to be included- this is a surprisingly large group as well.  Candice strikes me as firmly being in the third category.

And I suspect she knew her husband was going broke, but she also knew that the only reason she was ever invited to any Tracy Anderson event was only because she was splashing out thousands per month, not because she was actually accepted in the Tracy/Gwyneth Paltrow/Madonna NYC in group. And she knew if her husband stop paying out, there was NO WAY she would get to enter the cool circle.  [/quote]
