Reporters: Feel free to reach out to formerwhittlestudents@gmail.com for any comments.
Please if you are a reporter, please come up with a more factual story regarding the now defunct Whittle School. WBJ was the only source that tried to factually report on the school. The two Wapo stories that came out this year was much more sympathetic to Chris Whittle’s narrative of the school facing hardships due to the pandemic when the main problem was Chris Whittle himself. Avenues had the right idea when it kicked him out. Besides, Chris Whittle is the type of person who never repays the money he borrows unless he gets sued. He got sued by Avenues and Sunny Varkey for not repaying money he borrowed. I remember when Chris Whittle sent out an email to Whittle families talking highly about his friendship with Varkey and that the merger was going to be great. Never happened and fast forward to today.
Whittle always overspends lavishly on architects and facilities and then doesn’t have the funds to pay even the contractors, not to mention the school faculty and staff.
Chris Whittle spends lavishly on trivial stuff. I remember when money was spent on a lavish retreat for faculty in Switzerland before the 19-20 school year started. Also in the same school year, each student received so many gifts with Whittle name all the while teachers were not paid on time. Maybe those gifts were bribery attempts to get the students to come back the next school year. The school had been a revolving door for both students and teachers since its opening. I am sure Chris Whittle never paid the architect either. Whittle School’s landlord sued the real estate agent for brokering the lease most likely because the landlord knows Whittle is broke. I can recall an email from Chris Whittle saying that he thanks the three main parents on the parents’ committee and that they advised him on his personal spending. In the end, the college consulting firm contracted to Whittle did not get paid.
