Agreed! As a youth, I was heavily into movies, read monthly movie magazines, and paid a lot of attention to the Oscars. The year Forrest Gump won the Oscar, I made a clean break with all of it and never went back. [/quote]

ugh, don't remind me. Crash winning Best Picture is one of the most baffling Oscar wins that I can think of, since I started watching the telecast in the early 90s. It's terrible.

Even if they weren't going to give it to Brokeback Mountain, *all* of the other nominees (Capote, Good Night and Good Luck, Munich) were lightyears better than Crash.

Don't particularly like Forrest Gump either, but I'd watch it any day over Crash. [/quote]
