Anonymous wrote:The most hypocritical thing I have seen from Imyouthsoccer guy is "polling" where to put the recruiting numbers for those ECNL teams that moved to GA, in ECNL or GA. The response was ECNL because that is where they were developed.
Until someone asked where they put the Nationals numbers and he said ECNL but that was different.
He is clearly a shill of the highest order. At one point I thought I knew who it was (hint: Chicago based ECNL parent) but dont have enough evidence to truly support that.

Actually it seems ECNL really must be worried about GA gaining ground with all these seemingly never-ending attacks.
They are, its that simple. It's also why they're trying so hard to say anything negative about GA.
Here's what they're really worried about. Every player that commits from a GA club ECNL parents see as one less ECNL committment. With the new 28 player max rosters theres going to be even less spots to be had.
For girls what will happen over time is GA/ECNL will get 80%-90% of all the college players.

Look behind the curtain and that is likely what is driving this to a large extent. It is just early in the process but in the coming years you will see Nike vs. Adidas where kids are “guided” to certain schools based on shoe company preferences. This is/will be the path moving forward and will start on the girls side of things initially. Time takes time but this is likely the end result.
Decades ago, people in the USA cared about basketball on both the college and pro levels. There was a lot of money there even "decades ago"
There is no money in American soccer. And comparing college soccer to college basketball is laughable as well.
We've been waiting since 1994 for American soccer culture to hold its own vs other sports. It never happened. And it's not happening now.
Get your head out of the sand
Come on you have to admit we're in a better place than 1994 - It might still be niche, but you can ACTUALLY WATCH top level teams all over the world easily. Those fans passionate about soccer are very passionate, even if it's a small group. Funny thing is that every single sport has massively declining tv ratings (other than the NFL) because we're not one big monoculture anymore.
Plenty of $$$ in the sport as well, even if it's all being siphoned out at the youth level

it's not that he said something wrong, GA posted information that looked good for GA, so right on brand for ImYouthSoccer they posted something negative to GA to make ECNL look better. The post was only 27 D1 programs were at the GA Finals. Someone posted they don't think its a GA "quality" issue due to only 8 teams are playing at the u16 and u17 age and the travel for that doesn't make sense on an ROI due to cost and their season is close to starting and they just saw these same players a few weeks ago.
IYS then response about GA is declining every year and then someone followed up that ECNL only had 22 D1 coaches registered for their finals and then silence, but the post stays. again, 27 is not wrong ... but just curious at the timing as it is not truly a needed post but it was a post right after GA posted data that made them look good. its just on brand for IYS.
Its actually even worse for ECNL than that.
GA is holding its national talent id during finals. Many D1 coaches will choose to attend this over either finals.
exactly. GA hats thought they had one on ECNL but as usually, can't check the data. GA hats thinking they in the big leagues but haven't realized they still hitting off a kids tee.
The talent ID is now. ECNL finals are next week.
