I think Isobel and Dr Clarkson are much more alike but would have a very dry marriage of peers.  Lord Merton is a pushover but lovely and madly in love with Isobel.  I think they will have more of a yin/yang marriage.[/quote]

I think you may be right - but it seems Dr. Clarkson was the only one who wasn't paired off with someone, which makes me sad.  I love that man.  Even Tom was obviously going to be with Edith's editor, the pretty blonde woman.

Speaking of Tom, I found the way he was always in the background of every scene with Mary and/or Henry to be particularly annoying.  Like a twinkly-eyed Jiminy Cricket or something - very irritating.  [/quote]
