I'm going to miss DA!

I have always loved Mary, bitchiness and all. You could always count on her to be ice cold, I adored it.

The tiding endings were pretty silly, but I'm glad. You get a husband! And you! And you and you and you! Just like Oprah and the cars.

I loved Wolf Hall, but had to google the cast after reading this - I had no idea Dr. Clarkson played Anne's father!!! Why did I not recognize him? Too funny. Thanks for the tip.


His wife committed suicide by jumping in front of a Tube train during the time he was shooting Downtown.

I loved Wolf Hall, but had to google the cast after reading this - I had no idea Dr. Clarkson played Anne's father!!! Why did I not recognize him? Too funny. Thanks for the tip.

But I'm happy with the confectionary ending, and SO happy Edith gets a happy ending. I teared up at the scene with Isobel and Lord M when he said, "I would have like to have married you."

Yes on both counts! I thought Lord M's original proposal was really sweet too.

And Tom+Henry = Bromance. More chemistry than Mary and Henry, lol.
yes they said they were in love but the chemistry was not there.

I loved the scenes of Robert and Cora driving into Bertie's ancestral home. Clearly, it was so much grander than even Downton. It was nice to see them be a little humbled by someone else's wealth and I'm SO GLAD Edith married into all this grandeur, and not Mary. Nope, she got stuck with a (used) car salesman as a husband. Sweet, sweet karma!

I think everything ended as well as it should (except for Dr. Clarkson, of course). Daisy is a nitwit till the end - what a dope. I loved Andy and felt so bad for him when she was so blatantly rude. She doesn't deserve these sweet guys who seem to fall for her.

I'm so happy for Anna and Mistah Behhhts. He finally got his son! Very sweet.

I was quite teary at the wedding scene and especially at the very end when they were all singing "Auld Lang Syne" - both upstairs and downstairs. So touching and sad to say goodbye to all these characters we've come to love!

I think Isobel and Dr Clarkson are much more alike but would have a very dry marriage of peers. Lord Merton is a pushover but lovely and madly in love with Isobel. I think they will have more of a yin/yang marriage.


I think you may be right - but it seems Dr. Clarkson was the only one who wasn't paired off with someone, which makes me sad. I love that man. Even Tom was obviously going to be with Edith's editor, the pretty blonde woman.

Speaking of Tom, I found the way he was always in the background of every scene with Mary and/or Henry to be particularly annoying. Like a twinkly-eyed Jiminy Cricket or something - very irritating.

No, it wasn't about dressing. It was at the wedding. Regardless, the historian said aristocrats never thanked any servants ever. They also almost never touched them using their bare hands, which is why the scene with Carson was so touching.
