I actually thought teenage Kate was thinner than child Kate and, what I would imagine Kate having to look like to become so obese by the time she was 30. I wish Kevin had apologized to Randall about not claiming him as a brother earlier. I didn't get the metaphor of the washing machine...at all. Was it just that Rebecca is starting to become unhappy with her lot and that their marriage is unraveling?
I see Kevin more and more as emotionally unavailable. He walks away in the middle. Here was my take on the washing machine. If you go in chronological order, they started with that hope and promise at the laundromat. It takes a while to get there... Now they are there. I think she appreciates that DH (is it Jack?) had worked so hard to get there....but....its just a washer. Sure, it's the "greatest one in the world" but really? She's thinking, all washers aren't the greatest. And even if it is, is that enough? The hope and promise are done, and maybe "done done," if he doesn't step up. If there's no more promise/hope forthcoming.
