Lots of illegals work and pay taxes to the tune of $97 billion ($60 bil of that going to the Federal government).

How do they do this? They apply for and are granted an ITIN, which is like a SSN.

Illegal immigrants use their ITINs for jobs, to pay taxes, and to get bank accounts, credit cards, and loans.

We're going to miss their billions in contributions to social security next year. Those contributing using their ITINs cannot receive any of those SS benefits when they retire. They pay into a system that they can never legally use.

I'd rather give all illegal immigrants ITINs. they can be used for tracking purposes as well as tax benefits.

I do still think that a large portion would do their current jobs if made legal. Becoming legal doesn't automatically add to their skillset. They would need to have the skills to make it in other jobs/industries. [/quote]
