More like Thanks Trump 1.0.

Look at this first term deportation numbers compared to Biden's.

Comparing deportations between Biden and Trump is simply an attempt at manipulating data.

Biden allowed in upward of 10 million illegal aliens.

Where's the data to prove this? It's just another MAGA talking point.

MAGA can't keep the figure straight. Sometimes Trump says it's 10 million--other times he says it's 20 million. He also often implies or outright says that many are dangerous criminals (rapists, murderers, etc.).

The fact that you don't believe this is actually sad. You are either totally ignorant or you have not been paying attention. Or, perhaps your sources don't report on these things because it would cause progressives' heads to burst.

I could go on.... but you get the idea. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

None of this justifies what is happening.

You are super bad at risk assessment.

This is why discussions with people like this are essentially fruitless.

They have a different America in mind than we do. Start with that fact and you realize you can toss out everything they say.

They may need deprogramming maybe but that's not our first concern.

This is the difference between those of us who believe we should enforce our border laws and get all those who are present illegally out of the country.

That illegal man from Egypt who attacked Jews in Colorado would have been considered a "hard working Colorado man who just wanted a better life" by the liberals here - until he wasn't. There are tons more like him - people here illegally who don't have a record (or one that we know about), but are not people we want here.

The US should be able to CHOOSE who immigrates here. That is not what is happening now.

I am all for looking at solutions for the dreamers - those who were BROUGHT here as children and they had no say in the matter. I am NOT for looking at solutions for their parents - they knew what they were doing was wrong.

Do you think they would be willing to keep working for pennies in horrible conditions?

Lots of illegals work and pay taxes to the tune of $97 billion ($60 bil of that going to the Federal government).

How do they do this? They apply for and are granted an ITIN, which is like a SSN.

Illegal immigrants use their ITINs for jobs, to pay taxes, and to get bank accounts, credit cards, and loans.

We're going to miss their billions in contributions to social security next year. Those contributing using their ITINs cannot receive any of those SS benefits when they retire. They pay into a system that they can never legally use.

I'd rather give all illegal immigrants ITINs. they can be used for tracking purposes as well as tax benefits.

I do still think that a large portion would do their current jobs if made legal. Becoming legal doesn't automatically add to their skillset. They would need to have the skills to make it in other jobs/industries.

No, it's actually much more complicated than that.

Not really. Your link describes exemptions for a narrow class of foreign nationals here on specific visas for purposes like education, certainly not undocumented folks.

This is the latest progressive talking point -- we supposedly need the illegals because they will do the jobs that are so unpleasant that legal Americans won't do them. I heard somebody yesterday on TV say "if you think grocery prices are high now, just wait until Trump gets rid of all the illegals."

how is this different from slavery of dark skinned people two centuries ago? I bet the southern states said exactly the same thing - "if you get rid of slaves, the lack of cheap labor will be a big problem and the rest of the country will have to pay more for cotton."

Hysterical. Talk to the farmers about whether Americans will take those jobs.

The Latin countries free up their jails and tell the criminals to go to the us and leave them alone. This is true but it’s also true that most illegal immigrants are not dangerous criminals

The estimate of 10 million is likely low.

"The data shows that from January 2021 – the month Biden took office – through June 2024, there were about 10.1 million such encounters at all borders and ports of entry."

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2024/08/12/51-million-border-illegally-biden-fact-check/74595944007/

This number does not include the got aways - which number about 2.5 million.
This piece cites the number at about 1.7 million but does not include data from Biden's final year in office.
https://nypost.com/2024/05/16/us-news/1-7-million-gotaways-have-sneaked-into-us-under-biden-data/

Nor does it include the migrants Biden brought across using his illegal parole action, the CBP app, or other mass entry methods.
