That would be illegal.  There’s no legal authority to cut off granny’s social security while paying bond holders.  And there won’t be enough cash anyway.  The fed revenues don’t come in evenly.  They come in big chunks at each quarter.  They just got one and are now spending it all down.  It will be gone in early June.

If you want to preserve US credit rating pay bond holders.  If you want preserve US cities pay granny.  If you want to preserve the grifters lift the debt ceiling.  Bottomline, a choice will be made and the consequences will be served to each and every one of us.[/quote]

But it’s not “you” making the decision. Congress already decided to choose both. It can make a different choice for the future. What they’re trying to do now is simply stiff people now that the bill is due.

Also, recall, Republicans insisted vehemently at the State of the Union that cutting granny’s benefits was not a thought they would ever entertain. So that’s off the table. [/quote]
