My undergrad degree is in science. I have two master’s. Neither is an M.Ed. I really am comparing apples to apples when I note friends with the same degree are earning more for less work. I know because I used to do that, too before I switched to teaching. [/quote] Yes, STEM teachers can be underpaid compared to other people with similar educational backgrounds (though, as a career-changer, you’re not a great example of what is typical). But the same isn’t true for, say, English majors and teachers.[/quote]
