This is a weak statement.

The rioting and looting were a result of the reaction to this awful death.  
They are hurting innocent business owners, destroying property, and causing the taxpayers of the city undue costs.

The police station and police cars that were damaged and destroyed?  They'll be repaired and replaced - at the taxpayers expense.

Rioting and looting is just stupid and short sighted.  Many were simply taking advantage of a bad situation.  The people there who were protesting  should speak out against these [b]criminals[/b].  [/quote]

Really?  Looting going on right now at the Target in Minneapolis.  
When you come out to protest, and you start stealing stuff, you become a thief.

Bear in mind had bystanders not recorded this murder the entire police force would be insisting that the man died of a heart attack due to underlying medical conditions and that rumors of supposed police brutality were completely false.  This is why people get so angry.  Because believe it or not these abuses of power by law enforcement happen all the time and police forces always dismiss them as ridiculous allegations and they get away with those dismissals because THE COPS NEVER CONE OUT AND TELL YHE TRUTH.  The only time these officers are ever held accountable for their abuses of authority is when there’s video evidence and even then most of the time they STILL GET OFF.  This is why people get upset.
