I understand how they work. Investigations won't come to a "screeching halt" but they can and will be targeted to minimize political fallout for Team Trump. With Comey and his god complex, we would get an independent investigation controlled by Comey's personal (and biased) ethics system. But that independence is exactly what worries Trump. He wants an investigation that will exonerate him. [/quote]

Comey's clearance will be revoked in about 30 seconds flat if he tries that. Besides, maybe he should negotiate with Trump over evidence, just like he negotiated with Hillary over access to her internet facing email server with classified information on it. Maybe Comey can tell his investigators not to ask witnesses certain questions when they are deposed, like he did with Hillary & her crew (reference: Joe DeGenova). The fact is, DOJ and FBI became way too politicized during Holder/Lynch/Comey and other buffoons.
