Why?  Do you think private school parents are embarrassed?  Do you think WOTP parents who buy those ugly little post-WWII houses are embarrassed?  Everybody wants to avoid exposing their precious children to undesirable influences.  What hurdle of hypocrisy do you have to overcome to be okay with paying for the wealthy (such as our current President) to avoid exposing his children to public schools, and then resenting your fellow citizens for wanting to do the same?
