I guess it depends on how different parents feel about future vs. present. We value the present pretty highly, and are willing to pull out our DC if things don't go well and the administration is unresponsive. Time passes a quantum leap more slowly for children. A year can seem forever, and we have no intention of leaving our DC in an unpleasant situation for that long. On the other hand, it's always possible that relationships that were previously problematic can shift. It's also possible that the teachers and administration are aware of something that we are not.
