After 15 plus years in DC we have found the greater Boston area to be easier--less crime, metro not imploding, better schools. You can get a pretty nice 3 to 4 bedroom house near the beach in Swampscott for 500-700k, walkable to good public schools, very little crime, take the train (30 min) to north station. You cant really do that in DC. [/quote]
