Are you the Op?  Neither am I but, if I was a girl and the choice of names was either Cinnamon or Ginger I would pick Ginger.  I agree with you that everyone deserves a "proper" name however, I think the only reason "Ginger" became ginger was because of her hair?  I know Virginia was her real name but, Op hasn't said anything about being a fan of "Ginger Rogers"

Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter could also go by her normal name, Blythe if she wanted when she got older.   Who knows in their home she may already be called Blythe.[/quote]
