I don't understand how people know other children's scores? Do people actually talk about their child's scores or are people just assuming things about certain kids? I have a child who was a priority applicant (ie, sibling or legacy) who scored 99.9 - and I would NEVER think to share that with anyone - I think don't think you can assume anything about scores if you don't know it for a fact - ie, someone who you might think got in just b/c of being a sibling might actually have a higher score than someone who has a parent who goes around saying what their score it. Seems like a very strange thing to talk about.
I am a parent at Beauvoir and I can say thus far I have never told anyone at the school my child's score and no one has told me their child's score. However, when you are friends with people you sometimes talk about these things whether sharing excitement or even disappointment. I have made some really good friends at the school so while thus far I haven't discussed scores, but I may at some point when my child is applying for the next level of schools just to discuss and share as friends do. I could see how this could come up with good friends when discussing certain things. It isn't necessarily done in a malicious or competitive way.
