You should read the thread before asking silly questions.  Do you honestly think that someone just started to post about WIS without any context?

Btw, I'm sure that DCI is also flattered to be mentioned in the same sentence as WIS.  However, the reason it's being mentioned is not a compliment to DCI.  WIS isn't just an expensive school, it's far superior on just about every objective measure to DCI (and I have no doubt that will remain the case).  The best that DCI can hope for is to be considered the poor person's alternative to WIS. [/quote]

Apparently so. I never understand why some people go on this thread specifically to make people feel bad. I am sure many people would prefer to send their kids to WIS instead of DCI or Sidwell over Wilson. But frankly that's not in the cards for us. Good for you for being able to afford one of the most expensive private schools in the world. I'm super happy DCI exists, even if it doesn't have the amenities of WiS. [/quote]

This thread is about DCI, and I believe it's great folks will have that option. Let's see if DCPS wakes up and delivers a great and bilingual/ multilingual High School...isn't something supposed to happen at Roosevelt?[/quote]

Somebody compared DCI to WIS on page 1. On page 2, a DCI poster stated that DCI was the only school in town that offered Mandarin in an IB program. I'm paraphrasing because the entire thread has hit the skids, but that's the gist of why WIS is being mentioned.
