Ok, now I have a questions which does not seem to be answered through all of this! I had a chemical pregnancy (started spotting 16 dpo) How should I calculate my cycle? I had a chemical pregnancy. I am not sure how to calculate my cycle now. I was told since the pregnancy ended 5 days after my period was due that I should get another period normally. My HCG was at 45 on 1/31, 37 on 2/2 and 2 on 2/8. I started the miscarriage on 2/3. I am 28 days, so should I count 28 days from 2/3 or 2/8 when my levels were at 0? I am technically due today, no signs of AF and an BFN on the EPT test I just took. What is going on? Ally J
I would count the first day of bleeding (full flow) as the first day of your cycle, even if b/w showed you still had residual HCG in your system when you started bleeding. You may just have a slightly longer cycle this time, but you should get back to normal pretty quickly. Having a few extra days in your cycle right after a chemical pregnancy is normal b/c it can take a few days for your HCG level to fall, and once it falls to a non-pregnant level, then your body will start the process of gearing up to ovulate. I've had 2 chemical pregnancies and had basically a normal cycle afterwards.
