The Marshall people work overtime to upsell their school, but at the end of the day the AP schools are perceived as more desirable and homes purchased in those districts are safer investments and more likely to hold their value. There is not a single higher-income community in Fairfax County that has ever requested an IB program and the percentage of graduates at local IB schools receiving IB diplomas is embarrassingly low.
I posted the above about marshall, I am zoned for mclean but we are lucky enough to be able to utilize the stem academy and know people who are very happy with ib. Any moron with half a brain knows that ib was put into less desirable school's to attract desirable demographics. It hasn't really worked in that sense. Marshall used to be undesirable back in the 90s and earlier but feeding neighborhoods improved and brought in higher incomes which improved Marshall.
