You don't know any details PP, including whether the parents have tried to go the legal route first.  You'd be amazed at how often parents don't follow through, even on something this serious.  And of course, often schools don't follow through either, in which case it's understandable that parents get desperate.

But OP has given NO details, nothing about what the family has tried to do to get their student moved the right way.  Or of the timing of all of it (it's August after all - when did this happen and what did the parents do before now?  What was school's response?).

Advising someone to jump to the illegal, potentially even more damaging act before knowing whether they tried the legal route is awful advice.[/quote]
