Those rule didn't work for Tamir Rice, who was sitting on a swingset with a pellet gun, and was shot within 2 seconds of the police arriving.  They didn't work for John Crawford, who was gunned down in a Wal Mart in Ohio while walking around with a toy gun <i>that he picked up off the shelf at that store</i>

Black families have "the talk" with their children all the time.  How to behave when the police approach, even if your white peers are acting differently.  Because they know what happens to Black boys who get sassy with the cops.  But even "the Talk" doesn't always save them, because sometimes they don't even have a chance to deescalate.  [/quote]
