First of all, shopping for any dress when you have a very large bust is almost always a terrible experience. It's frustrating when you see tons of beautiful dresses and know you'll be lucky to find 2 in the entire store that fit, and one of them looks like something they only sell to women over 80. So, maybe another shape would look great on a large-busted woman, but there's no way they can make it look normal with the level of altering that is needed. Enjoy your ability to wear dresses that look feminine and are also flattering.
As a large-busted woman, I know what you're saying - however, there ARE styles that are more flattering than the ubiquitous strapless style, with no bra support whatsoever. That is just a hideous look if you have huge breasts. The link supplied earlier is gorgeous - flattering to the bust and also skimming over any other bulges. An A-line is so much more flattering than anything figure-hugging, and I think that applies to even skinny women. The mermaid has got to be one of the worst styles on anyone.
