As a large-busted woman, I know what you're saying - however, there ARE styles that are more flattering than the ubiquitous strapless style, with no bra support whatsoever. That is just a hideous look if you have huge breasts. The link supplied earlier is gorgeous - flattering to the bust and also skimming over any other bulges. An A-line is so much more flattering than anything figure-hugging, and I think that applies to even skinny women. The mermaid has got to be one of the worst styles on anyone.
It is gorgeous! I own an evening gown with that type of bodice. Do you know how many stores I shopped before giving up and ordering something off of eBay? Too damned many. Ordering a gown from eBay takes away the dress shopping experience. The original post makes it seem like there are options, when I know there are not.

I really like this dress. I have never been married and when I watch the show, I just cringe. Maybe some women do choose nice dresses like the one in the link but they don't air those segments. Nearly every dress these women choose is just awful.

When I got married, I wore DD with a fairly slender waist and fairly fit ... still a large person but really flabby. I tried on about a hundred dresses with straps because I was convinced a strapless would be awful. I ended up with a strapless two piece (separate bodice and skirt). It had more cleavage coverage than most of the dresses with straps or sleeves because of the cut. It really comes down to the cut and fit of the dress ... though there are definitely some styles and cuts that larger breasted women should just stay away from.

I am very large-busted and had a similar (some modifications, I had the straps a bit more on my shoulders than the off-the-shoulder look) dress. I do think it was very flattering given my measurements.
That is really a beautiful style. I love that dress!

This was my dream dress 18 years ago, except it had an elbow length silk ruched top and no jewels and that was gorgeous and flattering. (I'm a size 6, 5'7) I couldn't afford it, and opted for another tulle dress. Anywhoo - divorced now, so it doesn't really matter. But I did love that dress. Oh well, still wished I'd spent the money of it. Silly, I know. But soooo pretty.

I was married in '06 and wore a Pnina, right as she was an emerging designer. She was having a trunk show @ kleinfeld at the time (this was when the store was in Brooklyn!). I loved the bones and rouching on the dress but hated the extra flowers and crystals so she removed them when she made mine. The result was gorgeous.
Someone actually suggested I have my wedding dress dyed black and wear it as an evening gown. DH freaked! Still the siluette would still work for me and my 10 extra lbs since my wedding nearly ten years ago!

My least favorite "consultant" on the show is the blond, older woman who has obviously had major work on her face. She is the most annoyingly fake person - such a salesperson, always trying to close the deal.
