DD and I have a solid relationship though and she tells me about all sorts of things that bother her or her friends. So I'm not overly concerned that I need to get info about her life through her text messages. I just check to make sure that what I think I know is going on, actually IS what's going on. DD knows which of her friends I'm fond of and which I'm not, so sometimes if one of her friends does something naughty she might not want to tell me since she feels it'll reinforce my feelings about them, though that's rare.
