Even if the closure meant that the kids were able to go on to Deal? I doubt that Eaton parents would be against it in that scenario. Just a guess...
well the way the winds blowing its already probably going to go to Hardees anyway so you're going to lose them no matter what. also the easiest way to fix the deal over enrollment is to not give out of bounds students automatic feeder rights to deal. Deal would be down to 900 of you did that.
Seriously. This obsession some folk have over IB kids vs. OOB kids borders on insanity. Eaton is a great school. Hearst is a great school. Deal is a great school. (And by the way...my kid goes to Deal and I'm still trying to figure out what definition people are using to justify this assertion that it's over crowded. It is not). I know it's difficult for some of you to wrap your head around the fact that you can have a great school with kids that come from all over the city; that these families can be active, and supportive, and politically savvy; and that your child can form lasting friendships with children who don't look like them or live across the street. But this is true for many families in this city who have been fortunate enough to be a part of these school communities. Here's a newsflash for you: There are some great things happening in the world outside of your 12 block radius.
Sorry, Eaton is a good school. It is not a great school yet. Much more needs to happen to bring it to the level of Janney-Mann-Key-Lafayette.
