[quote=Anonymous]St. Pat's has an excellent relationship with St. Alban's & NCS. With that said, I agree the word "feeder" is incorrect. It is especially inappropriate to use because St. Alban's has an official feeder school, Beauvoir. The by-laws of the Protestant Episcopal Church of the Diocese of Washington (PECD) include language which essentially requires NCS & St. Alban's to accept a certain number of applicants from Beauvoir. (Some say the mystery number/percentage is 85%). St. Patrick's probably has the second most students at St. Alban's & NCS in large part due to St. Patrick's leadership & administration who previously taught at Beauvoir & St. Alban's. Although my family was a part of the Beauvoir community, I have deep respect for St. Patrick's. Finally, although I definitely feel that the word "feeder" is not the right word to describe the relationship between St. Pat's & STA, I do think it is fair to say, that St. Pat's has a VERY close relationship with St. Alban's. If the leadership of St. Patrick's lobbies for a student to be accepted at St. Alban's, then providing STA has spaces (which have not be offered to qualified legacy applicants and/or "current families" which includes families w/children at Beauvoir & NCS). With that said, I have friends whose kids had straight A's at St. Pat's but did not test well on the ssats and were politely told that their kids were probably not right for NCS & St. Alban's.
