Wow, what a ridiculous statement. Some NCS/St. Alban's staff do send there children to St. Pat's but QUITE a few send them to Beauvoir as well, in fact the majority. Not all schools are a good fit for the same children or families. Thank goodness there are so many great schools to chose from. It can not be inferred that St. Pat's must be academically superior and that is why cathedral staff send their kids there. There are a ton of other factors. Also, let's be realistic, among the private schools there really isn't that much of an academic distinction between the early childhood programs. I say this as a very happy Beauvoir parent. I feel pretty confident that my child would get a similar academic experience at NPS, St. Pat's, WES, etc. I also think the school rivalry is stupid.
Not ridiculous at all, as I'm am close with quite a few of the lower school faculty and admin. Beauvior alum are weaker students.

That is only 10 a year. Doesn't seem that much.

I find it so annoying whenever St. Pat's people keep saying they are a feeder school to NCS/STA. There is only one feeder school and that is Beauvoir. There are so many wonderful school and students applying and I am sure the STA is taking a good look at all of these schools and students. St. Pat's is a good school but not the only good school.
So in terms of "parsing" it out, yes strictly speaking Beauvoir is the primary feeder. This thread is pretty silly though. So many kids from all different sorts of schools, public and private, are admitted to St. Alban's. I think the OP takes issue with the perception, rightly or wrongly, that somehow St. Pat's sends more kids to St. A's than Beauvoir.
Oh come on, nobody ever says or implies that St Pats sends MORE kids to STA/NCS than Beauvoir. IF anyone says or implies that St Pats is an unofficial feeder to STA/NCS (and it would have to be unofficial as there is no formal connection like there is for Beauvoir) all that is being said (or implied) is that St. Pats tends to send several kids to STA/NCS every year. That is true. Every year several St pats grads go on to the upper two Cathedral schools. There is absolutely no competition here with Beauvoir. In fact, I believe that most St Pats kids go on to the upper Cathedral schools in 7th and 9th, only a few do so at 4th and not even every year. Most parents who choose a K-6 or K-8, like St Pats, do so because they want a lengthier time in which to decide what the best middle and or upper school will be for their child, at least more than through just 3rd grade.
Your right. We are on the same page here. The whole Beauvoir/St. Pat's discussion is ridiculous. Exasperating really.
