I'm 37. My DS is 21 months now. I gained 50 pounds during pregnancy and still need to lose 30 to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I did not exercise much during pregnancy and pre-pregnancy, worked hard to maintain 140s. Weight has always been a struggle for me. Before baby, I walked all over the place and knew I had to stick to under 1500 calories (I'm 5'2). So now, I'm around 180 which is awful. I've gotten food under control but don't consistently exercise. Any hope for me? Any tips? I've lost 16 pounds in these 21 months but that is such a slow rate of loss.
PP here: Jogging stroller? Gym with daycare? Even walks with your DS would probably feel good. 16 pounds is a great start--it's not easy to lose the weight. How is your son sleeping? I get up early to work out before my kids are up (we have an elliptical in the basement), and also take the kids running in the double jogger. Anything to keep moving!
I definitely need to make exercise more of a priority. Unfortunately DS wakes up at 5 or 5:30 and that has been really tough on me but now that the weather is better we need to head out of the house and walk or at least do so on the weekends.
Ugh, those early wake-ups are brutal. Hang in there. But, with the earlier sunrise, that could also make for a good early morning walk with your son, or jog if you're up to it. Not sure what your work/home schedule is like, but maybe that's an option? Yeah, I'm able to thread the needle many mornings as my infant wakes up at 5 to eat, I feed him, then work out before his sister the toddler wakes up at 6:30. Then, jogging stroller on weekends and WAH days. I admit to being compulsive about my exercise, and it's a lot of effort to make it work. Good luck!
