I'm 37. My DS is 21 months now. I gained 50 pounds during pregnancy and still need to lose 30 to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I did not exercise much during pregnancy and pre-pregnancy, worked hard to maintain 140s. Weight has always been a struggle for me. Before baby, I walked all over the place and knew I had to stick to under 1500 calories (I'm 5'2). So now, I'm around 180 which is awful. I've gotten food under control but don't consistently exercise. Any hope for me? Any tips? I've lost 16 pounds in these 21 months but that is such a slow rate of loss.
Well, are you willing to really sacrifice? If you are, yes -- there is definitely help for you. I have probably lost over 30 lbs in less than 5 months. I don't weigh myself but I went from a tight size 10 (really, a size 12) to a loose size 6, which is now almost falling off of me. I'm 5'5". If I had to guess, I probably weigh about 135lbs now. I have a muscular build though so not really sure. I lost the weigh by cutting my calories back drastically (no more than 1,200 a day, with very few exceptions) and doing high intensity running. Started off jogging between 1-3 miles a day/five times a week. Now probably up to about 30 miles/week. I cut out all sugar and almost all carbs. It has been drastic, but it has worked. Now that I'm at my goal weight, I'm eating more/being more forgiving about what I eat (still a lot of exercise though). It has been tough and a real commitment. But you can do it.
