Baltimore County has good public schools, so most suburban residents send their children to public schools unless they have a family connection to a private school or a religious reason to pursue private education. The majority of the children in my children's classes live in the city. We are the only family in my suburban neighborhood who send our child to a secular private school, a couple other families send their children to Catholic schools. Yes kids drive from the city to McDonough. Suburban kids go too, of course. Why is it surprising that people who live in the city might send their children to private schools in the burbs? Or that people in the city where public high schools aren't considered that good, might be more willing to pay tuition for private schools than people who live in the burbs where public schools are generally considered reasonably good?[/quote]

Just wondering. DC kids rarely drive out if the city to go to private school.... Though this is becoming the new normal.

I am very interested in Baltimore privates. Job opportunities there, we went to dc privates and I understand those schools, just don't understand the Baltimore schools. Thinking of moving to hoco and sending kids to private.[/quote]
