This is why we will never fully address mental health in this country because of the attitude that individual choice is the main driver in problems like addiction and other issues. All of that aside, I enjoyed her music and voice and knew that this thread would go off the rails because everyone on here has of course made all the RIGHT choices in their lives and have overcome so much and are oh so perfect. But can't find any lesson, sympathy or compassion in the horrible situations others may find themselves in - especially for someone who gave so much enjoyment to others.
I could be a addict. I don't know. I've never taken drugs to find out whether I'd ever become addicted. Easy!!
You are addicted to being a judgmental asshole. There is no cure.
So you are advocating experimental drug use? That seems odd. It's really not difficult to NOT take drugs. You just don't. I was being sincere - I really could be an addict. I really honestly don't know because I would never put myself in the position of finding out. There is free will here. Don't open doors you don't want to walk through. That's not being judgmental. That's just stating facts.
People with mental health issues are more likely to experiment because they are looking for something. They need something to "calm the madness" or "lift the depression" or a combination of the two. It often works but only in the short-term as addiction often follows.
It is called 'self-medicating'
