The fact remains that I personally would rather have a child that is confident enough to express him or herself in any non-violent and law abiding way than to have a child that is constantly trying to keep up with their friends. Individualism is a sign of creativity which is a trait many future employers seek. I want my kids to be who THEY are not what others think they should be.

I am sorry OP can't accept that there are many intelligent successful people who don't give a damn what others think. If my son wants a Mohawk and fake tattoos all over his arms at age 4, he's going to get a high five and a "rock on". Hell, if he wants to wear a damn tutu, I'll ask what color?
