Strangely some people seem to their anxiety is more harmful to the baby than repeated multiple times a week exposure to the Doppler.
PP here. It may actually be that they're not incorrect. But, if they have that much anxiety with no signs of trouble, the doppler is a bandaid covering up a major issue they need to work on. And my guess is it isn't reducing the anxiety by that much to make a huge difference. Again, hate to keep picking on the one poster, but if you literally cannot sleep, suffer insomnia and high blood pressure because you're stressing over a symptomless possible miscarriage you need help putting things in perspective. Parenthood is much more frightening than this. Also, I think some PP's are mistakenly thinking that a poster upthread is arguing in favor of doppler with the "what if you don't feel movement" question. I think that was a person concerned about the Doppler posing the question - along the lines of- if you think things are stressful now, there's more stress ahead, and you should NOT resolve that stress with the doppler. That was my take, anyway.
I was referring to Jindc poster who uses the Doppler for sanity b/c she is too early to feel movement. I think she definitely has an underlying issue - and no Jindc, ivf is not an excuse b/c I did it too (several times) and don't have a home Doppler. Yes, if she has so much stress now, what is she going to do once she finally feels movement? Still rely on the Doppler if she has an exceptionally quiet day? Thus, my point that the Doppler is not only useless but creates a false sense of security.
