Yes, in a perfect world, I could ask my husband whether promotions come every two years or three, or whether 2013 is supposed to be a crap year for bonuses, or if Firm X is poaching and Firm Y is on the rocks. Unfortunately I do not live in a perfect world, and my husband is afflicted with a severe case of Imposter Syndrome rendering him incapable of dwelling on work issues at home without it devolving into a panic attack. Are we working on these issues? Yes, but in the meantime I am happy people spread that kind of info around on the internet, if you look hard enough. Twenty years ago we would have been really screwed. But I guess the idea of trying to work through, and around, a spouse's problems instead of kicking them to the curb is outré around here.[/quote]
