PP here, I knew someone would yell about this. Yes, in a perfect world, I could ask my husband whether promotions come every two years or three, or whether 2013 is supposed to be a crap year for bonuses, or if Firm X is poaching and Firm Y is on the rocks. But I guess the idea of trying to work through, and around, a spouse's problems instead of kicking them to the curb is outré around here.

Who made you the decider of how much and how "severly" people are impacted? What are your criteria? This post was not about me, ever. It was seeking input from other people or other people who have spouses in this area, if that's not you, then move along, you can't tell me if this bump is indusrty wide and will or will not continue.
