Because you lean conservative let me share this: We asked St. Pat’s whether they were teaching anything about gender theory before we enrolled. The administration said no, although they mentioned students might hear about it from other children. We felt that was fair and decided to enroll our child. However, we later noticed that many of the teachers seemed very liberal, and we found books like Julian Is a Mermaid in the classroom, along with others I don’t recall. Because of this, we decided to withdraw our child from the school and went to a Catholic school.
I send my kids to a Catholic school and lean far left, including on gender issues. I don’t personally subscribe to much of what the school pronounces, but have no problem with my kids being exposed to it. They can enter the priesthood for all I care. I like the school because they do a damn good job teaching the basis and feed into excellent Catholic high schools. Then again, I grew up poor and went to crappy schools, so don’t really have much mental bandwidth to concern myself with the silly books in the library.
