[/quote] They just care A LOT about their peers’ opinions. My parents had an enormous house on 2 acres of land. I convinced them to downsize and when they saw houses that would be an appropriate size (no stairs, 2 bedrooms) they were appalled. My mom said “I need to be PROUD of my home! My friends wouldn’t be impressed by this.” They ended up in a huge “luxury” townhouse with two flights of stairs. But at least they got rid of the yardwork problem.[/quote]
