+1 (and maybe Jeff can attest that I am not one of the anti-Israel anti-Zionist posters - quite the opposite). Certainly this action raises certain costs for Iran but the idea that we brought the country completely to its knees in a day is just funny if not so sad.

Maybe this is the time to again tell the story about the early 2000s when I met one of the 20-something Bush appointees who was headed to Iraq to work for the state departmen, a Fed Soc type lawyer with zero experience. I mean, nothing wrong with that on the micro scale. But on the macro scale was an astonishing Wizard of Oz moment for me to understand how unbelievably dumb our foreign policy was as that time. [/quote]

As dumb as it was, it was a million times smarter than the current yahoos.  At least Bush and co realized they had to do something beyond killing the current leadership even if their plan doesn’t doing that was terrible.  Trump and his goons think they can just kill off the top Iranian leaders and magically a pro-US government will arise from the ashes.[/quote]
