OP, if you choose to keep your child in that current school make sure you seek other outlets for enrichment for you and your family so that the school isn't playing such a dominant role in your lives. I'm sorry if my post seemed to be calling you names, it was attacking the absurdity of the experiences that we and our children continue to deal with today while at the same being told that racism doesn't exist at xyz school and that you're just making it up because you're stuck in the past. Funny how most of our children are considered potential behavioral problems or eventually labeled with a learning disability and that we're the problem because we won't face it. Not to say that I haven't seen minority children with behavioral problems and different learning styles at my child's school. It seems that every child is viewed using the same faulty set of lens.
