It existed, but it was not a universal recommendation until after the 09 H1N1 bonanza. 2002—recommended for babies and toddlers. 2008 it became a recommendation for kids up to age 10. And then 2010 for the universal recommendation. So, maybe you are a doctor or nurse? To get the flu shot 27 years ago was not routine for adults at that time.
