They are. Yale too. My theory is that the status attracts narcissistic sociopaths and their sociopathy and narcissism allow them to lie and cheat to build the kind of application you need to get in. [/quote]

It is funny to read this. I got admitted to a Harvard PhD program (and another good school). When I went there to meet the current grad students, they were very unhappy, saying “Harvard is one of those places that looks better the further away from it you are.” The department also had fewer resources, so I chose the other school.

It struck me that many of those who chose that program at Harvard, despite its weaknesses, must be drawn to its name /status. Those are not my people. [/quote]
