Oh, the insensitive a-holes who complain about their law firms, their “trips to NY to see6 shows” or their “trip to Paris World Cup.” There are many families who do-the-best-they-can with what they have to support their soccer player. Some families are larger or smaller than others, and soccer may be a stretch for them. What’s wrong with having a little sensitivity? Maybe donate funds to supplement those for whom an international trip may be cost prohibitive? Are there domestic options? Either way, stop flouting your over-privileged rear ends. Pride comes before a fall…
I'm the PP who said my kids have never gone on one of these trips in several years of playing DCSC travel, and speaking just for myself, I'm not donating any additional money to the club so someone else can send their kids. It's too much money for us to want to throw at it + the trips are usually timed to private school spring break, not public school spring break, and I'm not pulling my kids out of school to go see Manchester City play. But again, these trips are totally optional — literally no one on my older kid's team went the past two years, and only one on the younger kid's team. I don't see why it should be a source of any stress or anger that (a) they're offering it this year or (b) your kid isn't going.
