Sure, Notre Dame is a football school, but it's a very well regarded academic institution with an emphasis on undergraduate education. To imply that the school is not elite because it's not a behemoth research giant like UMich, Berkeley, or MIT seems misguided, especially since the Times Higher Ed's rankings are precisely that -- a research university-centric ranking.[/quote]
